Do you receive any income from this website?
No, I don’t receive any income from this website. I created this website as a creative outlet to write and think about the topics that interest me. By sharing them online I hope they can be of interest to someone else and, ideally, encourage further thought.
Do you have affiliated links?
No. At the end of most articles I include some links to books or other resources on the same topic for further exploration. I have fully read all the books and articles I recommend. I might or might not agree with the author’s conclusions, but I invariably find them thought provoking and informative. I typically link recommended books to Amazon for convenience, but I do not receive any benefits (monetary or otherwise) from this.
How can I contact you?
You can email me at contact@intelligencehavingfun.com. As noted in the “Contact” section, please note that there is only one person behind this website, so I might respond with delay or might not respond at all.
How often do you post?
I attempt to post an essay once a week. You can follow Intelligence Having Fun on Instagram to see when a new essay is posted.
Do you have a newsletter?
Not at the moment, but I plan to incorporate one in the near future.
Why don’t you allow online comments?
“You are not entitled to your opinion. You are entitled to your informed opinion” (Harlan Ellison).
Here I will go on a more philosophical rant. Despite running a website (I think of it as more of a magazine than a blog) and being a data scientist, I consider myself a digital minimalist. I don’t see any contradiction on this. In essence this means that I think technology is an increasingly powerful tool that can definitively be used to better society, but I also think there is a dramatic misuse of it in daily life. I see excessive social media usage as one of the biggest culprits. On this topic, I would like to recommend two books: “The Shallows: What the Internet Is Doing to Our Brains” (by Nicholas Carr), and “Digital Minimalism” (by Cal Newport). Having said that, I do welcome and value an honest and thoughtful exchange of opinions for which you can contact me by email.
Can I reproduce your content?
In principle yes, as long as you provide proper attribution. Please contact me by email at contact@intelligencehavingfun.com.
